Ethical Responsibilities

1. Ethical Responsibilities of the Editorial Board

The Editorial Board (EB) of Confluence Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in academic publishing. These responsibilities ensure fairness, transparency, and scholarly integrity in the editorial and peer-review process.

The EB conducts a preliminary review of all submissions to confirm their originality, scholarly relevance, and adherence to ethical guidelines. Manuscripts are evaluated solely based on intellectual merit, without regard to race, gender, institutional affiliation, or any external influences. The EB’s final decision is based on rigorous peer review by subject-matter experts.

The EB guarantees that all submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure impartial evaluation. Editorial decisions are made with fairness and consistency, adhering to the journal’s scholarly standards and academic integrity.

Authors will receive acknowledgment of receipt within three weeks of submission. The maximum response time for the review process is three months, with accepted papers being published within three months after final approval.

All published articles are Open Access, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). Authors retain full rights to their work, while allowing non-commercial sharing and citation. The journal commits to proper author attribution and prohibits unauthorized modifications.

The journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, misrepresentation, and research misconduct. Submitted manuscripts are screened for textual and conceptual plagiarism using plagiarism detection tools provided by the National Center for Scientific and Technical Research (CNRST) in Morocco. In cases of confirmed ethical violations, the EB reserves the right to issue a formal retraction and take necessary legal measures.

Confluence Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies ensures long-term access to published research through CNRST’s digital repository and the Portal of Moroccan Scientific Journals (PRSM), ensuring compliance with academic preservation standards.

2. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting to Confluence Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards in research, writing, and publication.

Authors must submit original, unpublished work that has not been previously published and is not under review elsewhere. Simultaneous submission to multiple journals is strictly prohibited.

Authors must ensure academic rigor by clearly presenting their research framework, analysis, arguments, and interpretations. The use of primary and secondary sources must be fully acknowledged, with proper citation to avoid plagiarism and misrepresentation.

Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, including funding sources, institutional affiliations, or personal relationships that may influence the research. If the work is funded by an external body, this information must be explicitly stated at the time of submission.

If an author identifies a substantial error in their published work, they must immediately inform the journal. The EB will assess the issue and, if necessary, publish a corrigendum or formal retraction to maintain the integrity of the academic record.
By adhering to these ethical responsibilities, both the Editorial Board and authors contribute to fostering a transparent, inclusive, and high-quality scholarly environment for the humanities and social sciences.
