LLCIS Lab Student Presentation at National Doctoral Conference at Ben M’sik Faculty of Letters and Humanities, Casablanca
LLCIS Lab is pleased to highlight the participation of its student, Mohamed Rouichi, in the National Conference of Doctoral Students on Language, Communication, and Culture: Current Issues & Future Directions, held on May 23, 2025, at the Faculty of Letters and Humanities, Ben M’sik, Casablanca.
On this occasion, Mohamed Rouichi presented a paper titled “The Unchained Woman: ‘Rhaida’ and the Journey to Self-Liberation.” Drawing on anthropology, psychoanalysis, and gender theory, the paper examined “Rhaida” as a Moroccan oral narrative that challenges patriarchal control and moral authority. The analysis traced the transformation of the female figure from a passive character into an agent of resistance and a guardian of communal moral values, foregrounding themes of female agency, power, and resilience within Moroccan oral traditions.
LLCIS Lab commends Mohamed Rouichi for his contribution to national scholarly discussions on oral narratives and gender studies.
