LLCIS Lab Student Participation in the 27th Annual Conference of The Scottish Association for the Study of America
On March 7th, Hakima Choukri presented a paper on the intersectionality and traumatic psychosocial effects of surveillance in the Arab-American bildungsroman at the 27th annual conference of The Scottish Association for the Study of America. The conference took place in the University of the Highlands and Islands, Inverness, Scotland. It brought together senior and early-career researchers, as well as postgraduates, from across the UK and as far away as New Zealand to share their research on American history, politics, and literature.
Choukri was a member of a panel on the American bildungsroman, chaired by Dr. Aliki Varvogli from the University of Dundee. The presentations were followed by a rich discussion with other panelists on the nuances and trajectory of the contemporary minority bildungsroman.
