International Doctoral Colloquium: Exploring Knowledge Frontiers
On September 8, 2025, the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences at Université Abdelmalek Essaâdi hosted the International Doctoral Colloquium, a scholarly gathering dedicated to Exploring Knowledge Frontiers.
The colloquium featured a series of engaging presentations addressing intersections of philosophy, literature, history, gender, and cultural identity. The program highlights included:
- Philosophy and Science: For a Mutual Understanding — Kevin Kaiser (Laval University, Canada) & Sophie Bretagnolle (University of Quebec in Montreal, Canada).
- Tangier on the World Stage: A Microhistory of Morocco’s International City Amidst World War II — Natalie Bernstein (University of California—Los Angeles, USA).
- The Other Frontier: American Literary Encounters with the Mediterranean — Jaouad El Annabi (Université Abdelmalek Essaâdi).
- Representations and Dynamics of Gender and Family in Moroccan Female Authors’ Novels — Houda Sadiq (Université Abdelmalek Essaâdi).
- Second-Generation Moroccan Women’s Writing: Identity Writing at the Intersections of History, Narratology, and Psychoanalysis — Ikram Ben Talha (Université Abdelmalek Essaâdi).

Held at FLHS, Room 14, starting at 10:30 AM, the colloquium provided a dynamic space for doctoral researchers and scholars to exchange insights, broaden academic perspectives, and strengthen cross-cultural dialogues.
