A Talk by Dr. Karim Bejjit: Anglo–Moroccan Relations and the Embassy of Mohamed ben Haddū Al-Attar to the Court of King Charles II in 1682
On November 3, 2025, the Linguistic, Literary, Cultural & Interdisciplinary Studies Research Lab (LLCIS) hosted a captivating talk by Dr. Karim Bejjit (UAE) at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences, Tetouan.
In his lecture titled “Anglo–Moroccan Relations and the Embassy of Mohamed ben Haddū Al-Attar to the Court of King Charles II in 1682,” Dr. Bejjit explored a pivotal moment in early modern diplomacy that reflects Morocco’s significant role in seventeenth-century international relations. Drawing on historical records, portraits, and cultural representations, he offered deep insights into how this embassy shaped mutual perceptions and political exchanges between Morocco and England.
