LLCIS Lab Student Participation in SSAH Graduate Student Research Conference at Al Akhawayn University, Ifrane
LLCIS Lab is pleased to acknowledge the participation of its student, Mohamed Rouichi, in the SSAH Graduate Student Research Conference at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane.
During the conference, Mohamed presented a paper titled “Traveling Folktales: Moroccan Storytelling and Western Narrative Forms.” The presentation introduced Moroccan folktales and explored their affinities with Western narrative traditions, with particular focus on the oral narrative “The Eyes of Ben Adi.” Through close textual analysis and an interdisciplinary approach drawing on psychology, sociology, and cultural anthropology, the paper examined how cultural values, gender roles, and social structures shape power relations and gender dynamics, especially the constraints placed on female agency within Moroccan oral storytelling.
LLCIS Lab commends this scholarly contribution and Mohamed’s active engagement in academic research and exchange.
