A Conversation on Aspects of Turkish Culture with Gülsüm Akpinar
On April 29, 2025, the Faculty of Letters and Humanities at Abdelmalek Essaâdi University hosted Gülsüm Akpinar, Research Assistant at Sivas Cumhuriyet University, for an engaging conversation exploring the many facets of Turkish culture.
Rather than a formal lecture, the event unfolded as an open dialogue between Ms. Akpinar and participants. Through vivid examples and thoughtful reflections, she introduced the audience to the richness of Turkish traditions, social customs, and artistic expressions, showing how these elements continue to shape contemporary Turkish identity.

The discussion also invited comparisons between Turkish and Moroccan cultural experiences, emphasizing shared values and parallel histories within a broader Mediterranean context. By the end of the session, attendees left with renewed curiosity about cross-cultural understanding and the dynamic interplay between tradition and modernity.
